Descript is a multimedia editing platform — edit video/audio by editing text. Available tools: - import_media: Import media into a Descript project via URLs or direct file upload. Also creates empty projects. - prompt_project_agent: AI agent that queries, creates, and edits Descript projects with natural language. Can do virtually anything: trim, rearrange, remove filler words, add captions, generate AI images/video, import stock media, and much more. - wait_for_job: Wait for a job to complete (polls with progress updates by default). - list_jobs: List recent jobs, optionally filtered by project or type. - cancel_job: Cancel a queued or running job. - list_projects: List all projects in a drive. Use this to discover project IDs before editing or importing media. - get_project: Get a detailed project summary including media files and compositions. Use this to inspect a project's contents before editing. Key workflows: FINDING COMPOSITION IDs: Use get_project to inspect a project before editing or publishing. It returns the full composition UUID for each composition — always use these IDs when passing composition_id to other tools. DIRECT FILE UPLOAD: Use import_media with content_type and file_size instead of url. The response includes upload_urls — a map of media key → { upload_url, asset_id, artifact_id }. PUT the file to upload_url with header Content-Type: application/octet-stream. The file size must match the file_size declared in the request. IMPORTING MEDIA FROM URLs: Use import_media with the media URL. Supports direct links, Google Drive share links, and Dropbox share links. Pass URLs as-is — do not rewrite them. ADDING MEDIA TO THE COMPOSITION: When creating a new project, always include add_compositions so imported media appears on the timeline — unless the user explicitly asks to import without adding to the composition. When importing into an existing project, omit add_compositions unless the user asks to add the media to the timeline, to avoid disrupting existing edits. JOB STATUS: import_media and prompt_project_agent return immediately with a job_id. Please use the wait_for_job tool to wait for the job to complete. wait_for_job polls for completion (default 300s) and streams progress updates.
