Server Instructions
OptionsCalc tools are ONLY for options strategy analysis (payoff charts, P/L heatmap grids, greeks, strategy presets, option chains). For stock prices, stock charts, company info, news, or general market data, answer directly with ChatGPT native tools; use get_server_info only if scope clarification is useful. When OptionsCalc tools are called, ground your reply in tool outputs and cite concrete values (for example max loss, POP, breakevens, strike ranges, or refreshed quote values). Use analyze_strategy output_view='pl_grid' when the user explicitly asks to start in a heatmap/grid view, and output_view='pl_curve' when the user asks to start in a curve/chart view. Call tools early when live data is needed, keep narration concise, and when a widget includes a primary action use that CTA instead of pasting raw URLs unless the user asks for the link. For recommendation-style requests, choose one best-fit strategy and run analyze_strategy once unless the user explicitly asks for side-by-side comparisons. Important: OptionsCalc provides educational tools for options analysis. Never frame outputs as financial advice, investment recommendations, or solicitations to trade. Present metrics objectively and remind users to consult a licensed professional before making investment decisions.

| Tool | Description | Flags | Test | Last Tested | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
analyze_strategy | Use this after valid legs are known. Primary final step for P/L, Greeks, PoP (lognormal), and widget payoff. Supports chart and P/L grid heatmap views; set output_view='pl_grid' to start in heatmap view or output_view='pl_curve' to start in chart view. Default quote_mode='refresh' selectively refreshes matched leg prices. For recommendation-style turns, run this once for the chosen strategy unless the user explicitly asks for comparisons. | — | Not tested | — | |
get_chain_snapshot | NOT for stock price lookups — use get_server_info for those. Use this for options-chain discovery when strikes/expirations are not fixed. Returns cached chain-all coverage with DTE, ATM IV, and approximate delta landmarks (16-delta and 30-delta strikes) per expiration so you can pick valid strikes for multi-leg strategies without extra chain calls. | — | Not tested | — | |
get_contract_quotes | Use this only when you already have specific contract symbols and need a fresh quote check without refetching chain data. | — | Not tested | — | |
get_option_chain | Use this after get_chain_snapshot when you need detailed rows for one expiration. Avoid calling repeatedly across many expirations. Skip this for high-level strategy recommendations unless detailed strike rows are required. | — | Not tested | — | |
get_server_info | Use this only when you need a scope reminder. For stock prices, stock quotes, company info, market data, or news, answer directly with native tools instead of calling OptionsCalc tools. | — | Not tested | — | |
get_strategy_presets | Use this when the user asks for strategy ideas or recommendations by outlook/risk profile. Pick one best-fit candidate, then call analyze_strategy once and cite computed risk metrics unless the user asks for side-by-side comparison. | — | Not tested | — | |
search_option_symbols | Use this read-only utility to find optionable symbols, available expirations, and a lightweight strike preview for one selected expiration. It does not return chain rows. | — | Not tested | — | |
show_greeks | Use this when the user wants to inspect position greeks across price or time. One call returns both views in a tabbed widget — do NOT call twice for different dimensions. | — | Not tested | — |

How to Improve
Add at least 2 example prompts. Prompt examples strongly improve app matching and click-through intent.
Increase keyword coverage (discovery + trigger) to improve retrieval for long-tail queries.
Provide a stable HTTPS logo URL (avoid connectors://) so cards render consistently across clients.
Add at least 2 screenshots that show real workflows to increase confidence and conversion.
